Technology has the power to elevate learning, but when overused or misapplied, it can reduce student thinking, engagement, and ownership. This session explores how educators can use technology intentionally to enhance instruction while keeping students at the center of the learning process. Participants will examine how to determine when technology adds value, when it distracts, and how to design lessons that prioritize student thinking and problem-solving. Through examples and discussion, attendees will learn strategies for creating engaging, student-centered experiences where technology supports—not replaces—learning. Educators will leave with practical approaches to maximize impact while maintaining student agency.
This session would benefit middle and high school teachers with a focus on making technology work in their classrooms.
All too often when teachers focus too firmly on behaviors, they sometimes quick-fix away a deeper problem - academic struggles manifesting into actions that are perceived as insubordination. By utilizing MagicSchool AI's intervention tools, as well as a SchoolAi Space built specifically for our teachers to use, teachers that might feel too overwhelmed to reach out to their administration, guidance team, or even their peers, can dialogue their way to options that they can put into immediate use. This session will also provide a chance to use the tools in scenarios to build confidence and efficacy. Please bring a laptop, chromebook, or capable device for the best experience.
Any teachers that feel that creating interventions is challenging should definitely consider attending.
